Digital Operations Portal

Share the knowledge that keeps work moving.

The Digital Operations Portal brings documented handovers, operational information and internal communication together. It provides a shared digital space for the knowledge that needs to be passed on during everyday work.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Collaboration needs context.

Operational information emerges in different places and at different times. Someone taking over a task needs the relevant background; someone passing it on needs to explain the essential situation. The Digital Operations Portal addresses these transitions. It connects handover documentation with shared information and direct communication within the organisation.

FUNCTIONS & FOCUS

Capture information and pass it on.

01

Document handovers

Handovers record the information passed on when a task or stage of work changes hands. Documenting them creates a tangible reference for that transition. The portal provides a digital place for this, with the transfer of operational context at its centre.

02

Bring information together

Operational information is brought together in a shared space. Notes and knowledge from everyday work gain a common setting. Their relevance to ongoing work matters: what do other people need to know to understand a situation or a task?

03

Communicate internally

Direct communication within the organisation complements documented information. It creates space to discuss the work in context. Handovers, information and conversation all contribute to the same task: passing relevant knowledge between the people involved in the work.

IN PRACTICE

When work passes from one person to another.

One stage of work ends while the task continues. The next person needs to know what has happened and which details matter for carrying on. These transitions show the value of understandable handovers. The Digital Operations Portal considers documentation and communication together, focusing on the moments when operational information needs to reach another person.
